- Pneumothorax (Collapsed Lung)
- SYMPTOMS may include sharp sudden chest pain, difficulty in breathing, dry
- hacking cough. Pain may spread to shoulders, chest and abdomen.
- CAUSES are from gas or air getting between the membrane surrounding the lung
- and the membrane lining the chest. This prevents the lung from expanding
- fully. May involve a chest injury or lung disease.
- TREATMENT. Bed rest, oxygen. Air removed through needle inserted in chest.
